Shadab Khan Responds to PCB’s Decision on Rizwan’s Vice-Captaincy in Pakistan T20I Team

PCB’s Decision – Names Mohammad Rizwan Vice-Captain for Pakistan T20I Team: Shadab Khan Applauds Decision

In a strategic move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has designated wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan as the vice-captain for Pakistan’s T20I team. Rizwan’s initial role in this position will be to support captain Shaheen Afridi during the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled from January 12 to 21 in Auckland, Hamilton, Dunedin, and Christchurch.

PCB's Decision

Shadab Khan, who previously served as the deputy to former captain Babar Azam in white-ball cricket, has expressed his endorsement for Rizwan on PCB’s Decision. Despite Shadab’s current absence from the T20I squad due to an ongoing ankle injury recovery, he congratulated Rizwan on his appointment and conveyed confidence in Rizwan’s leadership capabilities.

“Congratulations Rizwan on being named the vice-captain of the T20I team. I know you will be a brilliant deputy to Shaheen Afridi. I urge all the fans to get behind them and support the team vs NZ,” Shadab conveyed on social media.

The complete squad for the series includes Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (vice-captain and wicket-keeper), Aamir Jamal, Abbas Afridi, Azam Khan (wicket-keeper), Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah (wicket-keeper), Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan.
