The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the highly anticipated national team’s kit for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, set to commence next month in the vibrant landscapes of the United States and the West Indies. This launch marks a significant tradition in cricket, where boards showcase their teams’ attire ahead of major tournaments such as the World Cup.

In a grand ceremony held at Lahore’s iconic Qaddafi Stadium on a starry Monday night, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi proudly introduced the Pakistan team’s latest attire, the “Matrix Jersey,” to the world. Expressing his enthusiasm, Naqvi took to the social media platform X to share the momentous occasion, stating, “Unveiled the new kit of Pakistan Cricket team! Team Pakistan’s Green Matrix jersey is more than just a uniform; it’s a symbol of unity, representing every culture, and individual that makes up the rich fabric of our nation.”

This series serves as a crucial preparation phase for Pakistan as they gear up for the much-anticipated T20 World Cup commencing on June 2 in the dynamic venues of the US and the West Indies. With a formidable bowling lineup featuring the likes of Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi, Pakistan is poised for an exhilarating performance.

The excitement doesn’t end with the kit launch. Skipper Babar Azam and his squad have embarked on a journey, starting from Dubai and then onward to Ireland and England for two distinct T20I series. The action-packed schedule includes three thrilling T20Is against Ireland in Dublin from May 12-14, followed by a gripping clash with 2022 World Champions England from May 22-30 in a four-match series.

Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan has showcased commendable performances in the previous two T20 World Cups, reaching the semifinals in 2021 in the United Arab Emirates and narrowly missing the trophy in the 2022 tournament in Australia.

In a gesture of motivation, Naqvi has announced a substantial cash award of $100,000 for each player in the event of a triumphant victory at the upcoming tournament, further fueling the team’s determination and aspirations for glory.
