First Hajj Flights Depart from Pakistan, Marking the Beginning of the Sacred Journey
The Hajj 2025 pilgrimage officially began on Tuesday as the first Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK-713, took off from Islamabad International Airport bound for Madinah, carrying 442 pilgrims.
A dignified farewell was given by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malki, and PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, who were present at the airport to send off the pilgrims.

In parallel, the first Hajj flight from Quetta, PK-7201, departed at 10:00 AM, transporting 170 pilgrims. Later in the evening, the first Hajj flight from Lahore, PK-747, is scheduled to depart at 10:00 PM, carrying 323 pilgrims to the holy city of Madinah.

🛫 Extensive Pre-Hajj Operations: PIA will operate 117+ direct Hajj flights from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, and Quetta, aiming to transport approximately 35,200 government-sponsored pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The pre-Hajj phase will run until May 31, while the post-Hajj return flights will commence from June 10 to July 10.
🕌 Under the government Hajj scheme, 89,000 Pakistani pilgrims will travel to Makkah and Madinah through 342 flights over a 33-day period. Notably, during the first 15 days, flights will be directed exclusively to Madinah.
